In January I made a commitment to lose a few pounds. I resolved to start walking home from work. Things have been going fairly well with my commitment, although I can hardly say that I walk home every day. However, I have obviously been getting a good amount of walking in because I recently got our cell phone bill. I’d been calling friends and family on my walks home to catch up and pass the time a bit. Our most recent cell phone bill was double what it is normally. In fact, when I first saw the bill I assumed that I had forgotten to pay the previous month and the increased charge just reflected two months worth of service. Ha, ha, ha. Nope. It was my talking; apparently, it was my incessant talking. This, friends, is the kind of unexpected expense (although, admittedly, a completely avoidable unexpected expense) that I’m talking about when I say we need “yikes money.”
So dear friends, if you’ve been the lucky recipient of a walk-home-phone-call from me, know that I’ve enjoyed catching up with you immensely. But, it won’t be happening again anytime soon. I’m doing my absolute best to just keep my mouth shut.
